An Artist's Creed
Some of this creed has been borrowed from the Apostle's Creed, but additions have been made.
An Artist's Creed
We believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and of Earth.
We believe he made us in his image. Male and female, he created us.
He made one man for one woman in holy matrimony to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth.
We believe mankind sinned and fell from a perfect state into a corrupted state.
We believe God sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, into the world to make atonement for our sins.
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
one holy church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
We believe that our writing and art should be made to glorify God, even if it is not explicitly Christian.
